Answer to "In my head: The term feminist and the gender binary"

I don’t think your friend’s argumentation is valid. Because feminism doesn’t mean that just feminine people can be it, it just refers to the social reality of heterosexism and the will to liberate persons who are summarized under the category “women”. In addition feminism has a history and many different theories. There is always an analysis of other gender concepts, males, queers, tansgender a.s.o. (Btw, queer doesn’t mean to ignore the reality of two dominant gender categories.)
Is racism not the right term because races are a social and not biological reality? You can do this with every other term to. A term can never speak out the whole complexity of it’s meaning. People really need to read books to understand theories and meanings; it’s not enough to bark against terms.
